Intent: At St Breock Primary School, History is a knowledge‑rich and inclusive curriculum that develops pupils as confident historians. Carefully sequenced learning builds secure chronological understanding and historical enquiry skills, enabling pupils to question evidence and understand how the past has shaped the modern world. History is meaningfully linked with PSHE, British Values and Geography to promote cultural understanding, respect and tolerance. We aim to: • Deliver a coherently sequenced curriculum that builds knowledge over time • Develop pupils’ ability to think critically and evaluate historical evidence • Secure strong chronological understanding from the Stone Age to World War Two • Introduce significant people, events and societies within and beyond living memory • Enable pupils to make connections and comparisons across periods • Ensure all pupils can access and succeed in History • Prepare pupils for further historical study |
