Welcome to Year 5!
This year, in Year 5, children have been encouraged to take on more responsibility and become more independent. Children have grown in maturity and have gained more independence and confidence from being given responsibility in their learning.
Although there is no statutory test at the end of Year 5, I will be assessing your child throughout the year to make sure that they’re making progress in all areas of learning.
If you have any worries or questions, please come in and speak to myself or Mrs Ward. Communication is key.
Please take a look at the Year 5 Curriculum Advice leaflet which shows what we will be learning this term. Our topic is biomes and ecosystems in the U.K. The children's next presentation will be based on this.
Core weekly tasks that could be reinforced at home, includes: times tables, weekly spellings, reading and recording in children's Reading Journal.
